The employees of Nestlé Malaysia recently ushered in the Year of the Fire Rooster with some exciting festivities. The event which kicked off at the lobby of Surian Tower, saw dozens of employees race to participate in an array of fun and festive activities such as the traditional lion dance, Chinese calligraphy, a fun chicken dance as well as lucky draw sessions.
This year, the celebration was made all the more special as we were joined by the residents of Rumah Orang Tua Seri Setia, one of our beneficiaries from Nestlé's Reaching Out to Community and Kids (ROCKS) Employee Volunteer Programme. Our volunteers, fondly known as ROCKers, accompanied the residents who took part in the customary tossing of lou sang with members of the Nestlé Leadership Team to bring happiness and prosperity for 2017.
One of the highlights of the day was when the senior citizens were presented with 10 sets of MAGGI Fortune Boxes and a brand new computer as requested by the home. The computer will be used to assist them with the home’s general management and communication activities. The home also received Senheng cash vouchers worth RM800, as part of MAGGI's partnership with Senheng in conjunction with the MAGGI Gong Xi Ria campaign.
After the presentation ceremony, the residents were then invited to join in the festivities, and exchanged bouts of laughter and stories with ROCKers and other employees while enjoying a delicious Chinese New Year buffet spread consisting of traditional Hainanese chicken rice, dim sum, man tou buns and Chinese New Year goodies.
